FAIZABAD: The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to build a modern township with world class facilities near Ayodhya. This plan has moved ahead with the tourism department approving it and had sent it to the state government.
The most awaiting thing of this project would be “Nirvana Abode” which is considered to be a destination to attain moksha(salvation). PricewaterhouseCoopers(PwC), a london based company prepared this project report and estimated the cost to be Rs 1,200 crore and is proposed to build on 500 acres of land along Faizabad Gorakhpur national highway which is 10km away from Ayodhya.
“The temple town of Ayodhya is so congested that no transformative construction is possible. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a new township to bring Ayodhya on world tourist map. Over 500 acres near Manjha Baretha on Faizabad-Gorakhpur national highway has been identified to develop Navya Ayodhya,” said Anil Kumar Pathak, the vice chairman of Faizabad Development Authority(FDA) and the district magistrate.
“AFDA has started work for acquiring the land. The new township will have all facilities of a developed city. The most attractive feature of the proposed Navya Ayodhya will be a moksha destination called Nirvana Abode,” said Manoj Mishra, the commissioner and chairman of Ayodhya Faizabad Development Authority (AFDA).
He added saying, “The plan to moksha destination is an integral part of Navya Ayodhya. Studio apartments will be provided near the banks of Saryu to those who want to die in Ayodhya. One studio apartment would cost Rs 20-25 lakh. Those who can’t afford can pay some amount, say Rs 5 lakh for the allotment of an apartment with the agreement that the unit will go back to the authority after the allottee’s death.”
