Youth commits crime by attacking petrol pump employees and snatches bag of cash

BHOPAL: On Tuesday the Police Claimed to have arrested four accused who allegedly robbed a bag carrying cash of Rs 2.39 lakh after attacking two petrol pump employees on Raisen Road on May 18 while the victims were going to deposit the money in bank. The accused are all students of class 10 and 12, and committed the act to arrange money for buying booze and branded clothes.

They had conducted a recce and were aware about the movement of victims. One of the accused resides near the petrol pump. Police recovered around Rs 40,000 from their possession and rest of the amount was splurged on booze and branded clothes. The accused had committed the act with a stolen bike which they allegedly set flames to after the incident.

SP (south) Lodha Rahul Kumar said that complainant Pradeep Bhadouria, a resident of Shahpura, owns Raja Petrol Pump near Pul Bogda. On May 18, pump manager Harprasad Pal and supervisor Bunty Sharma were going to the bank to deposit money on their bike. Three bike-borne accused attacked them with sticks near a private college on Raisen Road and fled away after snatching the bag with Rs 2.39 lakh cash.

The SP said that the arrested accused have been identified as Brijendra Tomar, alias Matru, resident of Aishbagh, Brijesh Sharma, alias Chanchal, resident of Ashoka Garden, Prashant, alias Shanu Vishwakarma, resident of Ayodhya Nagar, and Shubham Mishra, resident of Aishbagh.

He said a team formed to investigate the case and had found out some information that the suspects were seen in Aishbagh on basis of which they were rounded up. Police had declared a reward of Rs 10,000 for their arrest.

He said Brijendra is the leader of the gang. Shubham resides close to the petrol pump and he was assigned to conduct a recce. Shubham told the other accused that the petrol pump employees go to bank daily in the morning to deposit the cash. He was the one who signalled as the victims left the pump to go to the bank on their bike.
