Congress hits out at AAP govt over illegal sealing of industrial units in city
New Delhi: The Delhi Congress lashed out at the AAP government on Thursday over "illegal sealing" of industrial units in the city, demanding immediate relief for such establishments.
Addressing a press conference here, senior Congress leader and former MLA Mukesh Sharma held both the Centre and the Delhi government responsible for sealing of household industrial establishments and shops in the city.
Sharma alleged that the sealing has rendered lakhs of people jobless and "ruined" the lives of many individuals. He said the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) will hold a "massive demonstration" outside the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the issue on Friday.
"Illegal sealing drive of household industries and shops in Delhi was due to the secret understanding between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
"In the history of Delhi, it was for the first time that the two political parties, which came to power with a huge majority at the Centre and in Delhi (AAP government), were giving their silent nod to the illegal sealing drive of household industries and shops in Delhi," the Congress leader said.
Sharma said the DPCC also demanded immediate notification to recognise areas with 70 per cent household industries as industrial areas in the national capital.
