Minister reiterates PM’s call for clean sanitation

New Delhi: Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan reiterated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarion call for clean sanitation in the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva campaign’ organised by ONGC here on Sunday.

The highlight of the programme was the launch of Street Art painting, a unique initiative of ONGC towards beautification of slums areas undertaken in partnership with Delhi Street Art. During the event, the minister administered Swachhta pledge which was marked by inauguration of medical camp where a large number of people participated.

A live telecast of Prime Minister on Swachhta Hi Seva  was organised on the occasion. Swachhata Hi Seva campaign was launched to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan; it also marks the beginning of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The program was attended by Anil Sharma, Mayor, Delhi, Ashish  Sood, Convener,  BJP,  Shashi Shanker, CMD, ONGC, AK Dwivedi, Director (Exploration), ONGC, and other senior dignitaries from MOPNG and ONGC.

The campaign was being observed across the country from September 15 to October 2. The movement will realise the pledge of Clean India and to reinforce the concept of ‘Sanitation is Everyone’s Business’.

Addressing a gathering and the people of Coolie Camp who gathered in large numbers,  Dharmendra Pradhan said that with the Prime Minister launching this historic campaign, it is for each and everyone of us to take part in this movement, carrying forward the principles of Swachh Bharat. The Petroleum Minister lauded the efforts being taken up by ONGC.

CMD of ONGC Shashi Shanker said that ONGC is committed to the Swachh Bharat movement. He mentioned about events that are being planned at all the work centres of ONGC on the occasion of  Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.

Director (Exploration) AK Dwivedi welcoming the gathering gave a brief overview of the campaign and said that Swachhata Hi Seva campaign is a tribute that can be given to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary.
