New Delhi: Transformational politics and use of technology for the same are at the root of Sanchaita Gajapati Raju's political plans now. Having joined the BJP in the presence of BJP's national president, Amit Shah, on Tuesday evening, Sanchaita is excited about the contribution she could plan to change the rural scenario in her area of activity.

Speaking to The Hans India a day after, she says "as you all know I hail from the political family. My grandparents were in Congress and my biological father was in the TDP. And today here I am joining the BJP. To the questions as to why, my answer is this: The BJP has made, under the leadership Narendra Modi, water and sanitation drive as its core policy.

I have been working for the past seven years in these areas striving to improve the lives of the marginal and deprived sections. I could connect with it immediately. Hence, the entry into politics with the BJP."

Though the party has not given her any task as of now, Sanchaita is rearing to go. Having been into social work through her NGO, Social Awareness Newer Alternatives (SANA) since 2011 she is delighted that she is warmly welcomed into the party by the party bigwigs.

Sanchaita, who had won the inaugural Google Global Impact Challenge India Award by polling the highest number of online votes for her vision of bringing clean drinking water and sanitation to villages in coastal Andhra Pradesh, says she would continue to work for the rural uplift.

She reiterates, "I am not interested in politics alone. It has to be transformational politics with technology. Clean drinking water to everyone, sanitation to all will be at the forefront of my political activity".
