Founder of education trust stabbed to death in school over land issue in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A 63 year-old founder and chairman of an education trust was stabbed to death inside his school on Sunday over a property dispute when students where still inside.

KR Ranganath had called the owners of an adjacent property for a discourse and the issue seemed to have been based down. But two of them reverted again moments later to murder him. One accused was shot at by police and arrested; the other is on the chase.

Police sources said there was pandemonium on the school campus as scores of children attending special classes during the holiday were witness to the murder and ran recklessly.

Deputy commissioner of police (in charge for west division) Chetan Singh Rathore said the victim, a resident of Basaveshwaranagar, had called the meeting at Havanur Public School and PU College in Papaiah Garden at 10.30am.In 1986, Ranganath alias Ranganath Nayak started Sri Maruthi Vidya Samsthe which functions the institution.
