2 elderly women found dead at their residence

New Delhi: Two elderly women were found dead at their residence in Outer Delhi's Paschim Vihar area, police said Thursday. 

The victims, who were sisters, were in their 70s, they said. 

Police received a call between 4 and 5 pm on Thursday that two women were found dead in their house, police said. "Prima facie it seems like one was bludgeoned as she has injuries on her head and the second one was strangled. 

There is no evidence of forcible entry and it seems like the alleged accused would be known to the victims," said Seju Kuruvilla, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer). 

The deceased sisters were unmarried and use to live together at Paschim Vihar. Their relatives, who live in Faridabad and Uttar Pradesh, were informed, Kuruvilla added.
