Rahul discusses strategy for LS polls with TPCC, APCC heads
New Delhi: AICC President Rahul Gandhi met the presidents and other prominent leaders of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee here on Saturday to discuss party strategy and preparedness of the units for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and also AP Assembly polls.
Speaking to the media separately later, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and APCC President, Raghuveera Reddy, said Rahul asked them to focus on the election manifestos and the key issues to be incorporated in those.
Both local and national issues to nail the BJP, TRS and the TDP must find place in them, he is said to have told them.
While Uttam Kumar Reddy said TPCC was asked to submit a shortlisted copy of aspirant candidates to the AICC for the Lok Sabha elections, while Raghuveera Reddy said they would be submitting their list before the month end.
As for alliances in Telangana, it would be decided after discussions with the senior leadership, while in APCC it is almost certain that it would be a lonely battle.
Raghuveera Reddy said,in addition, they had urged both Priyanka and Rahul to campaign in AP to reassure them on the SRC promise.
The APCC plans to hold SRC Bharosa Yatra in February 3rd week in 88 Assembly segments of the State. It was also appealed to the AICC to hold a plenary in AP.
