Ball-tampering row: David Warner steps down as Sunrisers Hyderabad captain
With the ball-tampering saga unfolding, Australian players are facing a major backlash from the cricketing circles.
Australian vice-captain David Warner, was one of the three players, along with Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft, who was sent home by Cricket Australia following the row during the South Africa series.
Warner, who was to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has decided to step down from the role.
Earlier, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla stated that a call will be soon taken on both Warner and Smith’s future in the IPL. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday took to Twitter announcing the decision of Warner’s stepping down from the captaincy role.
