Wuhan [China]: Top-seed Kidambi Srikanth suffered a major blow as he bowed out of the ongoing Badminton Asia Championships after once again slumping to defeat at the hands of Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei in the quarter-finals here on Friday.
The Indian shuttler, who bagged a silver medal in the recently-concluded 21st edition of the Commonwealth Games, suffered a 12-21, 15-21 defeat against her Malaysian opponent Wei in their last-eight clash of the men's singles event that lasted a minute more than half an hour.

While Srikanth comfortably had sealed the first game 21-19, the Malaysian shuttler bounced back in the next two games, registering a 21-19, 14-21, 14-21 victory over his Indian opponent to clinch gold.
In another quarter-final clash of the men's singles event, ace Indian shuttler H.S Prannoy will lock horns with second-seed Son Wan Ho of Korea for a place in last-four.
