Sanjana, the lone TS spark

Hyderabad: On a day when players from other States ruled the roost, top seeded Sanjana Sirimalla was the lone one from Telangana State to hold aloft the winner’s trophy, which she achieved in the Under-16 girls singles category of the Vems Technologies AITA Super Series U-14 & U-16 Tennis Tournament-2018 that concluded at the Lake View Tennis Academy’s courts in Aziz Nagar here on Friday.

Deep Munim from Madhya Pradesh and Renee Singh from Rajasthan annexed the boys and girls U-14 singles titles. 

Meanwhile, it was a grand double for Maharashtra’s Faiz Mohd Nasyam.  Later, Chief Advisor to Telangana State, Anurag Sharma, gave away the prizes in the presence of title sponsor-Vem Technologies Managing Director Venkat Raju. 

Results: All finals-Boys singles Under-14: Deep Munim (3 MP) bt Ananth Mani Muni (7 AP) 6-4, 6-2; Girls singles U-14: Renee Singh (1 RJ) bt Yana Dhamija (2 HR) 6-3 (retd); 

Boys singles U-16: Faiz Mohd Nasyam (3 MH) bt Hitaesh P (4 TN) 6-1, 6-2; Girls singles U-16: Sanjana Sirimalla (1 TS) bt Veda Raju Prapurna (TS) 6-2, 6-2; 

Boys doubles U-16: Faiz Mohd Nasyam/Hitaesh P (2) bt Deep Munim/Heerak S Vora (1) 6-4, 6-2; 

Girls doubles U-16: Radhika Rajesh Mahajan/Mekhala Manna (4) bt Adithi Are/Paavani Paathak (2) 6-4, 2-6 (10-2).
