One-day league women cricket matches from Dec 1

Vijayawada: Andhra Cricket Association secretary Ch Arun Kumar thanked the BCCI for giving them the opportunity to stage BCCI Senior Women–A Group one-day league matches at Mulapadu and Guntur scheduled from December 1 to 20.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, Arun Kumar said that a total of 36 matches would be played in this league with 24 matches Mulapadu and 12 at Guntur. He said that he briefed the teams participating in the league matches. 

According to him, Andhra,  Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Goa, Railways, Haryana, Saurashtra, Punjab and Vidarbha would play 50 overs innings matches that will be played at Dr Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju ACA Cricket Complex DVT Ground and CP ground and ACA Womens Academy, JKC Campus, Guntur. The match timing would be 9 am 1st innings, 12.00 noon lunch, 12.55 pm 2nd innings.

Arun Kumar said that the five key players--former India Captain and Highest scoring Mithali Raj, Ekta Bisht, Poonam Yadav, Veda Krishna Murthy and Arundhati Reddy--participating in this tournament, represented the Railways and also India in the recent World Cup T-20 held at West Indies and brought laurels to the country.

The other players representing India were Poonam Raut, Rajeswari Gaekwad, Rumeli Dhar, Mona Meshram, Sneha Rana, Nuzat Parvan, Shikapandey. R Kalpana of ACA is also playing for Railways this time.

The ACA has taken all precautionary measures for the smooth conduct of this tourney. For the first time all women volunteers are appointed for taking care of the individual needs of the teams and for easy co-ordination, said Arun kumar.
