Happy Birthday Cheteshwar Pujara

  New Delhi: Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara born in 1988, in Rajkot, Gujarat turned 31 today. He is also known as India’s second ‘wall’. 

Pujara, who made his Test debut in 2010 against Australia in Bengaluru, has played 68 Tests (114 innings) so far and scored 5426 runs at a very healthy average of 51.18. He has 18 centuries and 20 fifties to his credit.

The Saurashtra cricketer was also named as the Man of the Series during India's historic Test series win in Australia this year, who scored three centuries and one half-century. He put up an astonishing score of 521 runs in 7 innings at an average of 74.42.  

Pujara in February 2017 set a new record for the most runs by an Indian in a first-class season, with 1,605 runs. Beating Chandu Borde's record of 1,604 runs. 

In the same year in the month of November, he broke the record for the most first-class double hundreds by an Indian, his 12 was one better than Vijay Merchant's 11.
