SC appoints Lt Gen Ravi Thodge as third member of CoA in BCCI

The Supreme Court had in January 2017 appointed four-member CoA, headed by Vinod Rai and its other members.

 ​New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday appointed Lt Gen Ravi Thodge as the third member of Committee of Administrators (CoA), which runs the affairs of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The Supreme Court had in January 2017 appointed four-member CoA, headed by Vinod Rai and its other members - former cricketer Diana Edulji, historian Ramchandra Guha and business executive Vikram Limaye.

Guha and Limaye resigned from the committee, leaving Edulji as the only member besides the Chairman.

“PS Narasimha, learned Amicus Curiae, has brought to our notice that from the

Committee of Administrators for BCCI appointed by this court in its order dated January 30, 2017, two members namely Ramachandra Guha and Vikram Limaye, have resigned,” the statement said.

“Having regard to the importance of the said Committe of Administrators for administrating the BCCI, we consider it appropriate to appoint Lt Gen Ravi Thodge, PVSM, to act as a third member of the aforesaid Committee of Administrators for BCCI,” the statement added.
