I love my herbal infusions best described as a concentrated concoction of one or many herbs. The ones I make and advocate  people to have are very easy to make are refreshing and recharges you. These caffeine free drinks act as weapons against various ailments. So give a good wipe to your tea cups and get ready for a different kind of high tea.

Ginger:  Ginger  must  always  be  in  your  kitchen  at  all  times.  It is a wonderful remedy for an upset stomach, nausea, joint pains, arthritis, flatulence for colds and coughs, flu and chest  infections. It has cancer fighting properties and is antibacterial. Grate fresh ginger root and toss in boiling water. Pour in a cup,  squeeze lemon and sip on it. It can be combined with honey to soothe a sore throat, aid digestion or to boost your energy.

Fennel: I recommend all to drink my fennel infusion after  meals. You must have often observed people chew on fennel seeds in India after meals. If you sip on my fennel infusion  the combination of hot water and fennel aids digestion gas, belching, and bloating. Crush a teaspoon of fennel seeds, add hot water and sieve the mixture and drink this aromatic draft  it’s an amazing mouth freshener too.

Peppermint or mint leaf: This brew instantly refreshes you and that’s why I love to sip on this every morning with grated ginger and a dash of lemon juice. Upset stomach, headache, irritable bowel syndrome and breathing problems are also why I ask people to reach out for it. In a pot of boiling water add a handful of mint leaves, grate about a teaspoon of ginger root  and squeeze lemon juice on it. Optional one can add organic jaggery powder.

Tulsi Infusion: I know  that Tulsi is your go to stress and  anxiety reliever. Take a few leaves and boil in water pour in  a pot and let it sit for some time before you strain and drink  it. You could do this daily and add lemon juice to it or grate  some ginger in it. It’s used as a natural remedy for adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism and unbalanced blood sugar.

Turmeric + honey: I just  reach out for organic turmeric  powder for a sore throat, a true elixir of life. It has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-microbial, antiseptic properties that can aid  a wide range of diseases from  diabetes, lipids Alzheimer’s to cancer. Boil 50ml of water, add  half a teaspoon of organic turmeric powder and a teaspoon of organic honey and see the difference it makes to your sore  throat or congested chest. A pinch of cinnamon powder in it can cut blood sugar levels.

Saffron: A damp muggy day can be set right with a few strands of saffron added  to  boiling  water. With its ample antioxidants it helps relieve stress and chest congestions. In fact I recommend saffron for  all  my  cancer  patients to  as  it  has  cancer  fighting  properties.

Fenugreek Tea: Fenugreek, our good old methi seeds from our spice box I have  recommended to  many  to  lower  sugar and  cholesterol  levels. In  a  pot  of water  add  a  spoon  of  fenugreek seeds, boil, strain and drink this beverage  preferable first thing in the morning. It can relive you of flatulence and bloating.
