YouTube channels that promote anti-vaccination content will not be allowed to run ads on the video sharing platform.

YouTube said as a policy it considers anti-vaccination content to be "dangerous or harmful." it won't allow the video to generate any money for the creator from advertising.

A YouTube spokesperson told in a statement, "We have strict policies that govern what videos we allow ads to appear on, and videos that promote anti-vaccination content are a violation of those policies. We enforce these policies vigorously, and if we find a video that violates them, we immediately take action and remove ads."

Last month, YouTube told it would also limit the reach of such videos featuring conspiracy theories in general, responding to concerns that its recommendation algorithm pushed users down extreme ideological paths.

A recent study of “flat earth” believers, for example, found that nearly all its 30 subjects had been recommended flat earth content after watching videos about other types of conspiracies.
