Microsoft to announce new Xbox lineup at E3 2019
The video game industry’s biggest annual expo, Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2019), may not witness Sony’s participation, but if the latest reports are anything to go by, Microsoft may steal the show by announcing its next-in-line Xbox consoles at the show.
French outlet Jeux Video claims to confirm that Microsoft’s Scarlet project, the 9th-generation Xbox consoles, will be showcased at the E3 2019.
Microsoft will be announcing its partnership with Nintendo and present two new consoles at the annual expo. The first console will be an entry-level model from the Scarlet project, dubbed Xbox Lockheart, with low specs. The second model, dubbed Xbox Anaconda will be high-end, placed alongside the Xbox One X.
The new consoles are said to be backwards compatible with the current hardware and will include SSDs.
Though Microsoft may announce these purported consoles at the E3 2019, it is likely to commercially release them by 2020, around the same time as the release of its Halo Infinite.
