Apple Watch - the world's most popular smartwatch - five features we expect more

Update: 2019-03-04 20:07 IST

HIGHLIGHTS
The 5 features that we expect to be featured in the Apple Watch soon

  •     Sleep tracking
  •     Longer battery life
  •     Always-on display
  •     iPhone battery status
  •    Third-party watch faces

1. Sleep tracking

When it comes to health tracking, the Apple Watch received a major upgrade. The latest Series 4 model features an electrical heart rate sensor which is capable of taking an electrocardiogram that means it can detect signs of Atrial Fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can actually increase the risk of stroke and other heart-related complications.

The firm's latest software update also brought new health-oriented features, like new yoga and hiking workout options.

Apple Watch can tell you a lot about your daily activity, but it still can't track sleep natively, though there are third-party apps that track sleep. As per report Apple is testing this feature internally and expects it to be ready by 2020.

2. Longer battery life

To work as an efficient sleep tracker, on a regular basis you need to wear the Apple Watch overnight instead of charging it while you sleep. At present, the Watch's battery life just isn't there yet.

Currently, we can typically get around two full days out of the Apple Watch Series 3. The Fitbit Versa, we can be worn for roughly four days without charging it.

3. Always-on display

It would be a very useful feature to have an always-on display on the Apple Watch. Similar to Samsung's smartphones, that offers an always-on display option.

As of now, there are a few ways to activate the display on Apple's wearable like by raising your wrist slightly and tilting it toward your face, by tapping the display, or by rolling the digital crown upwards. These mechanisms generally work reliably, but it would be even more convenient to glance down at wrist without having to move it or touch the watch whenever we want to check the time.

4. iPhone battery status

At present, it is possible to check the battery status of your connected AirPods on the Apple Watch, but still, you can't see how much juice your iPhone has without using a third-party application.
We would be glad to see if the iPhone resting on its wireless charger in the other room has a full battery straight from your wrist without having to go retrieve it. In view of Apple makes it possible to see the battery life of your connected Apple devices on the iPhone through the battery widget. Possible to do so will feel like a natural addition on the Apple Watch.

5. Third-party watch faces

Apple for sure offers more variety than Fitbit when it comes to smartwatch apps. Fitbit allows creating clock faces that anyone can download to the watch, which offers a variety of designs that furnish specific interests.

Apple also makes it possible for information from third-party apps to appear on definite watch faces through Complications.
