World’s first smartphone with 4-rear cameras, Samsung Galaxy A9, to launch in India

South Korean smartphone major Samsung seems to be on a launching spree in India. After introducing the world’s first smartphone with a quad-lens rear camera, Galaxy A9 in Malaysia last month, the firm is now geared up to bring it to India next week. This comes after Samsung recently launched the most-affordable smartphone with a triple-lens rear camera, Galaxy A7 in India.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 is supposed to go on sale this month. The colours available are Black, Blue and Pink. The device is likely to come at an initial price of around Rs 35,000.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 features a four-lens rear camera set up at the back. As far as the different lenses in the camera are concerned, the Galaxy A9 has a 24MP primary sensor with a f/1.7 aperture along with a 5MP sensor for depth effect with an aperture of f/2.2. 

There is an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor offering up to 120-degree viewing angle along with a 10MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and supports up to 2X optical zoom. On the whole, the Samsung Galaxy A9 comes with 24MP+10MP+8MP+5MP or 47MP quad-lens rear camera. On the front, there is a 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 flaunts a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display with Full HD+ resolution and is powered by a 3,800mAh battery with support for Fast Charging.

The device is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor and available in 6GB of RAM and 8GB of RAM options. Both the devices have 128GB of internal storage and support up to 512GB microSD card.

The device runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Samsung Pay (NFC) among other regular connectivity options. On the security front, there is a fingerprint scanner on the back. The device also sustains Face Unlock feature.
