Facebook Messenger acquires 'biggest feature' of WhatsApp
New Delhi: Facebook has, at last, started rolling out the popular WhatsApp feature in its Messenger app. Recently, the social networking giant has confirmed that it is testing to add the ‘unsend’ feature on its Messenger app on iOS and Android. Now, the company has started rolling out the feature according to a report.
As reported by TechCrunch, Facebook will do it in a phased manner. The first list of countries that will obtain this feature includes Bolivia, Colombia, Lithuania, and Poland.
This feature will help users to delete any message that they have sent by mistake. In order to unsend a sent message users just have to hold on the message and then select the “Remove for Everyone” option.
The message will be deleted for both the sender and the recipient. However, Facebook will retain the message for some time to review the same and report if it was unethical or related to harassment.
The users will have 10 minutes of a gap after sending the message to unsend it. If you miss this gap you will not be able to unsend the message later.
Facebook has launched a video app called Lasso, last week. The app helps users to create short videos using filters and special effects and share them. The app includes video editing tools which allow adding text and music to the videos.
This new app Lasso is available on both Android and iOS. Users can login the app using their Facebook or Instagram accounts and also the share their videos from Lasso to their Facebook Stories.
