IIT Delhi and IIT Madras campus placement begins from December 1
Campus placements are set to begin at the prestigious IIT Madras and IIT Delhi, starting December 1.
The requirement for niche talent in fast-emerging technologies such as data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence is one of the top reasons why companies are flocking to the IITs for fresher hiring. In fact, Google and McKinsey are returning to the IIT campuses after a gap of three years.
As many as 326 companies have registered for this year’s placement season at IIT-M and there are 490 job profiles for which companies will be hiring. Last year, there were only 270 companies who visited the campus to recruit freshers.
The first phase of hiring at IIT-Madras will commence from December 1 and last till December 8, and the second leg will begin starting January 2019.
“The number of recruiters coming to campus has seen an upswing this year, which is a clearly an indicator of the growing perception about the quality of students coming from IIT-Madras, in addition to our consistently top rank in NIRF,” said Professor Manu Santhanam in an interaction with The Times of India.
The Training and Placement (T&P) unit of IIT Delhi is expecting a positive hiring season this year. There is already an increase of over 25% in the number of foreign companies coming to IIT Delhi for placements this year. The recruitment process for freshers at IIT-D will commence from December 1 and will continue till May 2019.
