 This week Tech town was abuzz with news and happenings. Like an Indian firm became the third-most valued brand in the world whilst LG arrived with its latest flagship smartphone. A US-based brand launched some really funky looking laptops while Apple announced its 'Shot on iPhone' challenge and much more in the top tech news of the week.

TCS - Third-Most Valued IT Services Brand Globally
India's Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has emerged as the third most-valued IT services brand globally in 2018- 19, after Accenture and IBM, according to a report by Brand Finance. Four Indian IT services companies TCS, Infosys, HCL and Wipro has made a mark in the top-10 global tally.

LG Brings its Latest Flagship Smartphone to India
South Korean tech giant LG introduced its flagship smartphone LG V40 ThinQ in India. The handset is available on Amazon India website at cost of Rs 49,990 and started shipping on January 24. The USP of the LG V40 ThinQ is its five-camera setup. There are three cameras on the back and two cameras on the front.

Now India’s first WhatsApp Feature is Global
Globally WhatsApp will now limit message 'forwards' to five chats at a time, it started this practice in India in July last year to crack down on the spread of rumours and fake news through its platform. In an update to its blog, WhatsApp said the move will help keep "WhatsApp focused on private messaging with close contacts".

Avita entered India with a new and funky range of laptops
Avita, US-based lifestyle tech brand that took over Sony’s Vaio business has announced its entry in the Indian markets with its ‘Liber’ series of laptops. The price of the laptops begins at Rs 27,990 and goes up to Rs 83,990. Avita Liber is available on Amazon, Flipkart, Tata Cliq and Paytm and will be there with retailers like Viveks, Alfa, Dhruv Sales and Croma by end of January 2019.

Gujarat Government Wishes to Ban PUBG
PUBG, popular battle royale game has gained a lot of popularity among gamers and youngsters. However, this popularity wave has been facing its fair share of troubles as state governments are imposing a ban on the game. Recently reported that a student body in Jammu and Kashmir has asked to ban PUBG and now Gujarat government is also considering doing the same.

Apple's 'Shot on iPhone' Challenge
Apple has announced its 'Shot on iPhone' challenge, as part of this the company has asked the iPhone users worldwide to send in their best shots which will be featured on Apple Newsroom, Apple’s Instagram channels, apple.com, in Apple retail stores, Apple WeChat, Apple Twitter accounts, Apple Weibo accounts and billboards around the world. 

BSNL’s Republic Day Offer 
To mark the 70th Republic Day, state-owned telecom operator BSNL has announced a celebratory offer for its prepaid customers. It has launched a special tariff Voucher (STV) of Rs 269. Notably, the STV offer will be available from January 26 to 31.
