iPhone users cannot make Group FaceTime calls right now
Apple’s Group FaceTime was the company’s one of the most touted features of iOS 12.1. The service was also one of the most anticipated ones.
A new bug has been found in the company’s one of the newest iPhone features, Group FaceTime, with less than 24 hours remaining for Apple’s latest earnings call. The bug, as spotted by Bloomberg, lets you hear others’ conversations even before the call is answered. You could hear the other person automatically on Group FaceTime by simply calling them. The other party is obviously unaware of the caller hearing them.
Though, the iPhone maker was quick enough to react to this bug as its system status page suggested that the Group FaceTime feature is unavailable now. Hence, you are not able to add a person to make a Group FaceTime call. Even if you try to do it now, you will be unable to add a person to a one-to-one FaceTime call. Apple will most likely fix this issue soon and will resume with the service.
Apple has confirmed the Group FaceTime bug and has said in a statement to Buzzfeed that the company is “aware of this issue and we have identified a fix that will be released in a software update later this week.”
As revealed by many websites, one could simply call a person using FaceTime, while dialling one can swipe up from the bottom and tap ‘Add Person’, add your own phone number in the ‘Add Person' screen and start hearing the audio of the person you called without them answering the call.
It is being said that this bug will be affecting all the iPhone models that are running iOS 12.1 or later OS versions. This feature was launched by Apple three months ago so it is not for sure since when has this bug been present.
