New Delhi: Facebook has finally started rolling out the 'unsend/recall' feature on Facebook Messenger after months of testing. Last year it introduced the same feature in WhatsApp.

Similar to WhatsApp, the 'unsend' feature on Facebook Messenger enables users to delete the message which they have sent by mistake. Users will get a window of 10 minutes to recall a message sent on Facebook Messenger. Surprised how the feature works?

Easy steps to recall/unsend messages on Facebook Messenger

    Users need to tap on the message which they wish to delete
    After selection, users will get two options -
'Remove for everyone' and 'Remove for You'
    When users select 'Remove for everyone', then the message will be deleted for everyone and get replaced by text saying message has been removed by you

Last year in the month of April the debate around the unsend feature in Facebook Messenger started when news came that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was deleting private messages after sending them. When enquired about the same, Facebook confirmed that Zuckerberg's messages expired over time. After the exposure, the Facebook users demanded the firm to introduce the same feature for its users as well.

Then Facebook announced it will create an 'unsend' feature for all its users in the coming months. This new 'unsend' feature in Facebook Messenger is available for both iOS and Android users.

According to recent reports Facebook is planning to merge Instagram and WhatsApp with Facebook Messenger. The company has confirmed the news. Talking about the plan, the CEO explained that he wants millions of users across the three platforms to move to a more secure and encrypted messaging platform.
