Days after Sandhya Rani's murder, another stalker stabs woman to death for rejecting proposal

Another incident has come to light of a woman being killed in Telangana for rejecting a love proposal.

A 24-year-old woman was stabbed to death on Saturday by a deranged stalker who later committed suicide by consuming poison.

The accused has been identified as V Srinivasa Raju was a relative of the victim, Pravallika, a volunteer teacher in Nemalipeta village of Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

According to the reports, the accused has been harassing Pravalika for the past few months, insisting that she marry him.

Both Pravallika and her family had rejected his proposal several times. However, when Srinivasa learned that Pravalika got engaged to another man, he got enraged and came to the school she worked and stabbed her to death.

The incident took place near the school premises on Saturday evening.

As per the eyewitnesses, Srinivas had stabbed the victim repeatedly till she succumbed to death. Before anyone could react, he consumed poison and killed himself.

This incident comes just days after Sandhya Rani’s murder by her former colleague Sai Karthik in Hyderabad for rejecting his love proposal. Karthik threw petrol on Sandhya and set her ablaze in public after which the victim succumbed to her burn injuries. The accused was arrested and a case was registered under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, as Sandhya belonged to a Dalit community.
