TS Govt seeks National Festival status for Medaram Jatara

Hyderabad : Endowments Minister A. Indira Karan Reddy will visit Delhi on Tuesday to meet national leaders seeking their help in getting National Festival status for Medaram Jatara.

Accompanied with MPs from Telangana, Indirakaran Reddy would meet Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram requesting them to use their offices to declare Medaram Jatara as National Festival. 

He said Medaram Jatara is the largest congregation of Tribals in entire Asia which witnesses participation not only from Telangana, but from various parts of the country and world. He said nearly one lakh devotees are likely to participate in the Samakka-Sarakka Jatara from Chattisgarh and Maharashra States.
