ISCA - a government entity or not: Hyderabad HC seeks clarification
A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday sought clarification on the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), New Delhi which organises the prestigious Indian Science Congress session, whether it was a government institute or not.
The bench of acting chief justice Ramesh Ranganathan and justice G Shyam Prasad clarified that if the said association was not a government institute, any sort of orders will not be issued.
The clarification has been raised based on the PIL filed by PhD scholars of Osmania University in environmental science, S Kiran Kumar and P Vijay Kumar, who sought a direction to the authorities concerned of Telangana government and Osmania University to conduct the 105th Indian Science Congress session on the university premises as per schedule from January 3 to 7.
The case, however, has been adjourned to January 23 as the Bench refused to intervene on the issue of ISC session venue.
