TS Govt spending Rs. 23,000 Cr on city development: KTR
Hyderabad : Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that the Telangana Government would be spending Rs. 23,000 crore on various development programmes in Greater Hyderabad.
The minister said that six projects under Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) have been started at a cost of Rs. 7,000 crore. He said so far, works pertaining to nearly Rs. 3,200 crore have already been initiated and tenders were being called for works worth Rs. 3,000 crore.
KTR was speaking after inaugurating 450 Metre long underpass in Jubilee Hills near Ayyappa Society crossroads. The function was also attended by Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Transport Minister Mahender Reddy, MLA R.K. Gandhi, GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy and other senior officials.
The minister said that the underpass at Ayyappa Society was constructed as part of first phase of SRDP. He said the works would be completed in four phases. He informed that there was a proposal to construct 110 KM long elevated corridor in the city.
