TS Govt asks the release of funds for biodiversity repository and museum in Adilabad

The Telangana government had earlier submitted a proposal to the Centre to set up a biodiversity repository and museum in Adilabad district worth Rs 190 crore.

Urging the Centre to release its share of Rs 125 crore in the project, State forest and environment minister Jogu Ramanna met the Union Minister of State for Environment and Forest, Mahesh Sharma in this regard.

The Minister even called upon Union Law and Social Justice Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot to request permission for the construction of 15 new BC hostels in Telangana.

Ramanna also requested for the inclusion of all the BC castes in the OBC category so that they would get a fair share in government jobs to which the Social Justice Minister assured to resolve the issues once the Centre constituted the OBC Commission.

Later, the Telangana Minister requested Union tourism Minister Alphons Joseph to declare Kuntala and Pocherla waterfalls in the Adilabad as national projects.

He also urged the Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises Anant Geete to discuss the Ramagundam Fertiliser plant and setting up of CCI in Telangana.
