TSRTC to run special buses to clear extra rush

Hyderabad: TSRTC would operate 3,262 special buses in addition to the regular services during the ensuing Sankranti festival between January 10 and 13 in the two Telugu speaking States.

The TSRTC will run 1,910 buses in Telangana and 1,352 in Andhra Pradesh. The Corporation will charge 50 per cent additional fare in the long-distance buses. The special buses will originate from various parts of the city, including Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), Jubilee Bus Station (JBS), Uppal Crossroads, L B Nagar, Lingampally, Chandanagar, ECIL, KPHB, S R Nagar, Ameerpet, Telephone Bhavan, Dilsukhnagar and other important points in various colonies in GHMC.

The officials said the regular services scheduled on January 11 and 12 have already been booked online. The TSRTC will run buses to Vijayawada, Vizianagaram, Tenali, Guntur, Gudiwada, Rajamahendravaram, Kakinada, Rajolu, Polavaram, Machilipatnam, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Tanuku, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Bhimavaram, Narsapuram, Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, Chittor, Ongole, Nellore, Tirupati, Udaigiri, Kandukuru and other areas. The Ranga Reddy regional manager E Yadagiri appealed to the passengers to plan their journey in advance to avoid inconvenience at the last minute by booking tickets online.

According to the officials, the TSRTC will run 487 buses on January 10, 840 buses on January 11, 1,265 buses on January 12, 643 on January 13. The officials have provided facilities for advance booking of tickets online on website www.tsrtconline.in for avoiding the last minute rush.

The buses going towards Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Medak will start from JBS. Similarly, the buses going towards Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, Chittor, Ongole, Macherla and Nellore will start from CBS Hanger. The buses going towards Yadagirigutta, Warangal will start from Uppal Crossroads and Uppal Bus stand. The buses towards Miryalguda, Nalgonda, Kodada and Suryapet will start from Dilsukhnagar.
