2 women among 3 Maoists arrested
Bhupalpally: The police have arrested a platoon commander and two militia members of the CPI (Maoist) at Venkatapuram in Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district on Friday. The arrested were identified as Madivi Pande alias Susheela alias Laxmi, working as protection platoon commander of the Central Committee member Katakam Sudharshan alias Anand alias Duladadha, and the militia members - Ramesh and Nandini of Bheeram village in the district.
Eturnagaram ASP Rahul Hegde BK speaking to presspersons at Eturnagaram, informed that the Maoists were apprehended by Venkatapuram police and F/141 CRPF platoon personnel during vehicle inspections. During an interrogation their identity was ascertained.
The 29-year-old Madivi Pande hails from Urren village, Bairanghad taluka of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh State. She worked in Jan Milita from 2009 to 2010 and in Mirthur Local Organisation Squad (LOS) from 2010 to 2011.
In 2012, she worked with the Bairanghad LOS, in 2013 with the Bairanghad Platoon and in 2014 Gangulur LOS and was promoted as Area Committee Member (ACM). Since 2015 till date, she was serving as the protection platoon commander and committed offences in Chhattisgarh and in Telangana.
She took part in the burning of vehicles of road contractor in January 2015 at Tekulagudem of Wazeedu mandal and in an exchange of fire between police and Maoists at Jella forests near Kodijuttugutta in May 2015. The Maoist involved in planting land mine near Palem project area to kill police party in last March.
She was also accused of planting land mine and putting up wall posters at Kothapally cross road near Vijayapuri colony in last December. It was said that Madivi Pande recently suffered an injury on her shoulder and came to Mulug to get medical treatment with the help of the militia members. They were arrested while returning to Chhattisgarh. Maoist literature and a cash of Rs 35,000 was seized from the arrested, the SP said.
