Dy CM appeals farmers to remove auto-starters
Hyderabad : Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari has requested the farmers to voluntary remove the auto-started from their agricultural pumpsets.
Speaking at the meeting of Warangal Zilla Parishad on Saturday, the Deputy CM thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for providing 24 hour power supply to farmers. He said now the farmers would be able to draw water as and when required. He asked the farmers to remove auto-starters so as to prevent groundwater levels from coming down.
The Deputy CM said Telangana was the only State which is providing free 24-hour power supply to 23 lakh agricultural pumpsets. He said that the State Government was providing seeds and fertilizers on time to farmers. From this year onwards, farmers would also be given Rs. 8,000 per acre as input subsidy. Steps are also being taken to provide remunerative prices for agriculture produce.
Kadiam said that the revolutionary measures being implemented by Chief Minister has taken agriculture sector on the growth path.
