MS Swaminathan praises KCR for 24-hr power supply to farmers

Hyderabad : Eminent farm scientist M.S. Swaminathan has praised Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for his decision to provide farmers with 24x7 power supply. 

"This will be a great boon to the farmers particularly since Telangana is by and large a dry farming State. Crop life saving irrigation is vital for the success of agriculture," Swaminathan said in a letter to the Chief Minister. 

Swaminathan, who is the founder chairman of M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, thanked the Chief Minister for his decision of assisting the farmers in the most important area of irrigation security.
