Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP K Kavitha on Sunday said the State ls standing tall among the States in the country in terms of 24-hour free power supply to the farm sector. She complimented the efforts of the electricity employees in ensuring success of the scheme.

Kavitha was speaking at a meeting of TRVKS (Telangana Rashtra Vidyut Karmika Sangham) where a few hundred of employees from different unions joined the party affiliated union at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday. Kavitha said if Telangana State was standing tall with pride in the country, it was because of the efforts of the electricity employees. The 24-hour free power supply was a great achievement, she said. Kavitha said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave confidence to the staff by regularising 20,000-odd outsourcing employees. She alleged the Opposition parties had approached the court to stop the process. “You employees are also like power lines. If anyone tries to touch you, they will be reduced to ashes,” said Kavitha. She asked the employees to give their best as continuing the 24-hour supply was a big thing rather than announcing and leaving.

The TRS leader assured the employees that their problems would be solved soon. She promised to talk to the Chief Minister on the issue of 2018 PRC and take up the regularisation of 640 CJMs as per the directions of the Supreme Court, health credit cards to the employees working in Genco, houses for the workers of power generating stations etc. She promised to take up the issue of pay anomalies of the workers appointed in 1991. The issue would be examined, and justice would be done to them, she added.
