TRS MLC fires salvo at Cong ‘false charges’
Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leadership on Sunday charged the Congress leaders with making false and mischievous allegations against the TRS over farmers’ issues and continuously trying to stall growth in the State. They also pointed out the TRS government had been receiving accolades for giving 24-hour power to farm sector from all over the country, including Union Ministers. The TRS leadership also said noted agriculture scientist Dr Swaminathan also wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao appreciating him for providing 24-hour power supply to farmers.
Addressing the media at TRS Legislature Party office here, MLC Bhanu Prasad alleged that the Congress leaders were only shedding crocodile’s tears on the farmers to hoodwink people. The previous Congress government had totally ignored the problems of the farmers and minted money with the so-called ‘Jala Yagnam’, he charged. “Now for false prestige and cheap publicity, the Congress leaders are trying to malign the State government with false statements,” he fumed.
Bhanu Prasad also took serious exception to the Congress leaders meeting Governor ESL Narasimhan and making derogatory remarks against him. He sought to know as to why the Congress during its regime failed to supply seed, fertilizers and water for irrigation to farmers. The farmers were put to untold miseries and hardship for seed, fertilizers and water. Despite it remained in power at the Centre and the State, the Congress had failed to take up the issue of categorisation of Scheduled Castes, he alleged.
