TS to study agri policies of other States
Hyderabad: Irrigation and Marketing Minister T Harish Rao had decided to send a team of officials to Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat to study their agriculture policies and their implementation.
Addressing a meeting with senior officials on Sunday, the minister asked them to study the agricultural production and payment of Minimum Support Prices to farmers by various States, the process of procurement of agriculture produce and related matters. He directed the officials to submit their reports by January 13.
The minister also asked the officials to review the functioning of Rice Mills, Ginning Mills, Dal and Oil Mills in other States and how their best practices could be emulated by Telangana. He wanted vegetable stores to be set up at all stations of Hyderabad Metro Rail.
