Ashok Kumar takes charge as Telangana Bhavan chief in Delhi
New Delhi: G Ashok Kumar assumed charge as Principal Resident Commissioner of Telangana Bhavan in Delhi. A 1991 batch IAS officer, Ashok Kumar, had earlier served at the Centre as joint secretary in the Civil Aviation Ministry where he introduced Aircraft Accidents Investigation Bureau. In his capacity as the Secretary of the Social Welfare Department in Telangana, he rendered yeomen service to improve the functioning of the Social Welfare Hostels.
He also played a key role in the establishment of 119 English Medium Residential Schools in all the Assembly segments. Other key projects in which he played a crucial role are: Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad and daily water supply to households in GHMC. Janakampet Cheruvu of Nizamabad is now known as Ashok Sagar Cheruvu, thanks to the beautification project undertaken by him while he was Nizamabad Collector.
