Governor dismisses reports on differences with leaders
Hyderabad: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The Governor reportedly briefed the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister on the Law and Order and latest situation in both the Telugu States. Speaking to media persons later, Narasimhan took light of the criticism on his functioning by some leaders in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
While the Congress leaders accused Narasimhan of favouring the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government, BJP leaders of Andhra Pradesh accused him of not being fair.
Replying to the questions, he said they were like differences between the elders and children in a family and one need not take them seriously. He said he would never discriminate anyone and perform his duties in a fair and transparent manner.
Narasimhan said most of the issues pertaining to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh had been resolved and the remaining issues too would be resolved in an amicable manner.
He said suggestions had been made to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to further strengthen the functioning of Raj Bhavan while making it more accessible to common people. He described the meeting with the Prime Minister as a routine one.
