Minister distributes motor pumps to farmers

Siddipet: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday distributed submersible motor pump sets to 15 farmers under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) at Agriculture Market Yard in Siddipet.

The Minister also launched the Red Gram Procurement Centre here in collaboration with National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India limited (NAFED), an apex organisation of marketing cooperatives for agricultural produce in India, under Union Ministry of Agriculture. 

The government is providing Rs 5,450 including Rs 200 bonus per quintal as Minimum Support Price for the crop with 12 per cent moisture. The Minister said farmers need to be careful with the moisture percentage and trading process to get the best rate for their produce.

Later, the Minister made a visit to the free DSC coaching centre on the market premises and enquired about the classes and facilities for students. In the morning, Harish Rao inspected the ongoing works at memorial park and crematorium in the town. The Minister later visited Chinnakodur village.
