Gadwal: MLA D K Aruna on Wednesday demanded the State government to pay ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the families of victims who have lost their lives during the recent accident in the district. It is reminded that recently five labourers who were returning from their night shift work at a Jinning mill in Gadwal met with an accident when their overloaded van in which they were travelling lost control and fell in a road side ditch.

Referring to the insensitiveness of the TRS leaders, D K Aruna slammed the Ministers and other TRS leaders who toured and visited the district for launching the lift irrigation programme, but not expressed their condolences for the victims of the accident. “The TRS leaders have become insensitive and have not even visited the hospital to express their condolences towards the dead and injured victims of the accident.

We demand the State government announce ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to all those who are dead and injured,” said the MLA. The MLA alleged that there are regular accidents happening in the district to the bad and pathetic conditions of the roads. She questioned the government why is it backing the contractors who have halted the road works in the middle and kept pending since past four years. She said that even though the Road Over Bridge is completed three years back there is no approach road for the ROB.
