Harish Rao wants Devadula Project to be completed on war footing
Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has directed the officials to complete the Devadula Project on war footing basis.
The minister held a review meeting with the Irrigation Department officials till late hours on Thursday night. He conducted micro-level review of works on Packages II, III and IV of third phase. He directed that the works under Package II be completed by July and other works by October this year. He said that the agencies not completing works on scheduled time should be removed and replaced with new ones.
Harish Rao said that the works under Package II have been going on as per expectations. Once completed, this would provide water to Ghanpur, Bhupal, Pakala and other reservoirs. Under the first phase, water from Devadula Project would irrigation about 122,770 acres of land. In the second phase, water will be supplied to R.S. Ghanpur, Upaspally and Aashiraopet.
The review meeting was also attended by Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, MPs E. Dayakar and Seetharam Naik and senior officials.
