Parking woes to the fore

Hyderabad: It seemed all roads it led to the Parade Grounds on Sunday, but the authorities were ill-prepared to handle the traffic. People jostled to park their vehicles inside the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) vacant space that is opposite the venue.

In spite of ‘No Parking’ boards placed on the main road, people parked their cars on the road right from the Parade Grounds till Tivoli Cinema hall. Traffic came to a grinding halt between 5 pm to 5: 15 pm opposite the Gen Krishna Rao side of the Parade Grounds as hundreds of people were allowed to cross the road. 

A few cars that got stuck on the wrong side made matters worse for the police personnel. With just the HCA space available for parking, many visitors were seen taking a U-turn and heading towards Paradise Junction. Ravi Kiran, a visitor said, “I came with my family of four but due to lack of parking space we are forced to go back.”
