TSRTC announces hike in bus fares
Hyderabad: Telangana Stata Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on Friday enhanced the fares of the mofussil, city services and general bus tickets to overcome the problem of change.
The TSRTC management issued a circular affecting the hike in the fare. According to the circular, the existing city ticket fares are in multiples of Rs 1 to Rs 10 and problems are being faced while refunding of small change due amount. Several complaints are being received from city commuters over non-refund of change to them. Conductors are also experiencing difficulties in refunding the change due payable to commuters due to lack of small change, the circular said. The ticket prices would be changed in Mofussil Pallevelugu (Express, Deluxe Super Luxury, Rajdhani, Garuda, Garuda Plus and Vennela buses), city services (city/suburban ordinary, Metro Express and Metro Deluxe).
The minimum fare for the city ordinary services is reduced from Rs 7 to Rs 5 and the fares are rationalised to the nearest multiple of Rs 5. From now onwards child fare would be 50 per cent of the normal fare. For instance, if the adult fare is Rs 25, the child fare will be Rs 15. Here, the amount is rounded off to nearest Rs 5 after adjusting actual fare of Rs 12.50 to Rs 15.
