Archaeology Department renamed as 'Heritage Telangana'

Minister for Tourism and Culture Azmeera Chandulal informed that the Telangana State Archaeology Department has been renamed as as "Heritage Telangana".  The decision has been taken to give more focus on re-discovering the Telangana's history which exists since ages, particularly since Kakatiya period till now.

Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat here on Thursday, the minister, along with the Tourism Secretary Burra Venkatesham and other officials, said that for the first time the Telangana Government  was conducting an international seminar to discuss exclusively on Buddhism, Qutb Shahi Dynasty etc., which is to be held at Dr. MCRHRD on January 19 and 20. He said five International presenters from the United States of America, United Kingdom, Italy and Greece and several scholars from across the country and Telangana would be participating in the vent which will have six panels and 35 presentations
