Telangana police on Thursday was directed by the Hyderabad High Court not to arrest Congress leader and former MLC K Prem Sagar Rao till Monday.

Prem Sagar Rao is facing charges of inciting violence against Lambadas.

Justice T Rajani made the interim order following the plea filed by Prem Sagar Rao, who informed the court regarding the 25 FIRs booked against him at police stations across the state.

The state counsel told the Court that the former MLC was instrumental in the attacks on Lambadas and extended financial support to the Adivasis.

Countering this, the advocate of the former MLC said that none of the documents furnished by police showed any proof of the allegations levelled against Prem Sagar Rao nor did the statements recorded by the alleged shelter givers and transport providers mention anything about the support extended by Prem Sagar Rao.

Seeking evidence from the police for the allegations, the Judge posted the case to Monday restraining the police from arresting the Congress leader.
