SCR GM holds meeting with Nellore MP, MLAs

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav held a meeting with Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and MLAs from Nellore and Kavali on Monday. 

The meeting was held to discuss various issues concerning Rail development in the area including redevelopment of Nellore Railway Station. 

The issues which were discussed during the meeting are ongoing Railway Projects including Integrated development of Nellore Railway Station with modern facilities, provision of Road Under Bridges (RUBs), Foot Over Bridges (FoBs) at different stations, providing of new subway and additional escalators at Nellore station and enhancing of Passenger amenities including heightening of platforms at various Railway Stations in the area etc.,

Vinod Kumar Yadav briefed the public representatives and interacted with media on the developmental works being undertaken by South Central Railway in the Nellore area and expressed that priority will be accorded by the Zone to meet public expectations. He also informed that the works related to redevelopment of Nellore Railway Station is going to start in the next fiscal and the project will be completed within three years period. 

The MLAs who also attended the meeting are Nellore (Rural) MLA P. Anil Kumar and Kavali MLA R. Pratap Kumar Reddy. 

Earlier, Vinod Kumar Yadav made a visit to Nellore Railway Station along with MP, MLAs and Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager R. Dhananjayulu and undertook a detailed inspection of the Passenger amenities, facilities and other aspects. He also inspected the circulating area with a view to improve the facilities further.
