Commando succumbs to injuries

Hyderabad: Lakpathi, the 45-year-old Octopus commando who sustained injuries during the recent car accident at mock drill at Adibatla, succumbed to injuries, while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in L B Nagar on Sunday.

The accident occurred on Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road at Bongulur when the commandos were following a mini bus in an Indica car as part of regular training exercise.

Lakpathi, who was driving the car, which crashed into the van of other commandos acting as ‘extremists’ had suffered injuries to torso and abdomen on January 23.

His condition remained critical since the accident and succumbed to injuries on Sunday, while other four who sustained injuries are said to be stable.
