No political colour, claims Superintendent of Police
Nalgonda: District Superintendent of Police DV Srinivas Rao ruled out political angle in the sensational murder of Congress leader Boddupally Srinivas, husband of Nalgonda Municipal Chairperson Lakshmi.
On Sunday, the police presented eight out of 11 accused in Srinivas’ murder case before the media at a press meet at DPO meeting hall in Nalgonda. The arrested were identified as Chintha Kuntla Rambabu, Mandra Mallesh, Sharath Raj, B Hashapaka Durgaiah, Kathula Kalyan Samrat alias Chakri, Damunuri Satish, Merugu Gopi and Mathangi Mohan. While the other three accused - Mandra Mahesh, Mittapally Sai and Prasad – were absconding.
Briefing about the murder, the SP stated that Srinivas’ murder was a result of an argument between the deceased and the accused at a roadside eatery. Of the 11 accused, Rambabu, Mallesh and Sharath are the prime accused.
Giving explanation on the pending approval of gun license to the deceased, the SP said Srinivas’ license application was delayed due to his criminal back ground, who was involved in nine cases.
Meanwhile, Muncipal Chairperson Lakshmi along with MLC Rajgopal Reddy strongly criticized the police investigation. Stating that a man of his stature would not get into arguments at a roadside eatery, she reiterated that her husband’s murder was politically motivated, and the police was trying to divert the public attention with a fabricated story.
