Hyderabad : Congress senior leader and former Vice-Chairman of NDMA Marri Sashidhar Reddy on Friday accused the BJP-led Central Government of doing injustice with Telangana in the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons, Sashidhar Reddy said that the Telangana Government had sought nearly Rs. 34,000 crore from the Centre for Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya. However, the Centre was not pressurised for giving national project status for Kaleshwaram Project. He said that the Central Government did not allocate sufficient funds for any major project of Telangana State.

He said that several representations were made with the Centre till 2015 seeking national status for Pranahita Chevella Project. However, by undertaking re-designing the project in the name of Kaleshwaram Project, the TRS Government failed to get any Central funds. He alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao had re-designed the project only to get commissions from the contractors while increasing the burden on public exchequer. He dared the Chief Minister to arrest him for these remarks.
