Malla Reddy Medical College In Hyderabad Is Under Scanner!
Hyderabad: The Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad has received a shock. According to reports, Medical Council of India executive committee has decided to recommend to the Centre not to recognise or approve the awarding of 150 MBBS seats to the medical college. The decision was taken during a meet in January.
On the instructions of Supreme Court, the MCI conducted an enquiry into the functioning of the private medical college. It identified discrepancies and mismatch in the signature in attendance and verification of staff.
The Council members found the bed occupancy on the day of assessment was 65.38%. There were only 10 minor operations for the whole hospital on the day of assessment. But the records says, different figure.
The committee granted one month time to rectify discrepancies so that the matter can be taken up for further consideration based on compliance report submitted.
